The need A 2006 UNICEF report revealed that there were 7 million orphans in Nigeria and nearly 2 million of them were orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
In the Delta area of Nigeria children as young as two live on the
streets because their parents have accused them of being witches.
Others, including children born to HIV positive mothers, are abandoned
because their parents can’t cope.
These are overwhelming numbers, but Lighthouse Trust
International tackles these problems head-on by providing care and
support to orphans, motherless children and street children.
We can’t help them all, but we can make a difference to some!
Where we operate
We operate primarily in Nigeria. We currently support children and
families in Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Kaduna, and Benue states of Nigeria.
